By 2026, Assam plans to construct 1,000 new bridges: CM

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, announced on Wednesday that his administration would soon begin building a thousand bridges throughout the state.

Himanta Sarma said the state government has recently completed 842 small and large bridges while officially opening a 2.6-kilometer flyover in Guwahati that is reported to be the longest in Assam.
