Cachar Police Seize Drugs Worth ₹20 Crore in Major Crackdown

Cachar Police seized 60,000 YABA tablets and 6.848 kg of heroin worth ₹20 crore during an operation in Silchar’s Sildubi area. Acting on a tip-off, the team, led by IGP Partha Sarathi Mahanta, arrested a Sonai resident transporting the contraband on a motorcycle.

This bust comes as Union Home Minister Amit Shah calls for stronger anti-narcotics collaboration among Northeast states, citing insufficient progress in curbing drug trafficking.
