Caller Name Display Service to Roll Out from November 1

New Delhi: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has directed telecom operators to roll out Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) services across their service areas from November 1, 2026. The facility will allow mobile users to see the caller’s name alongside their phone number on incoming calls.
The service will be automatically available to eligible users without requiring a separate request. Trials have been conducted on 4G and higher-generation networks, while implementation on 2G, 3G and landline networks will be considered separately.
