Calls for ULFA-I Peace Talks Grow After Myanmar Drone Strikes
Following alleged Indian drone strikes on ULFA-I camps in Myanmar, former ULFA leader Anup Chetia and civil groups urged peace talks. Chetia said the conflict needs a political solution and warned against retaliation. AJYCP also voiced concern, saying the strikes may derail progress toward dialogue. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma denied Assam Police involvement, while the Indian Army has officially denied any operation. Civil society is now urging restraint and negotiation to preserve Assam’s peace.
