CCTV Made Mandatory in Dhubri After Eid Violence, 10-Day Deadline Set

Following Eid-Uz-Zuha unrest, Dhubri District Administration has mandated CCTV installation in all public, commercial, and large residential buildings. Issued under the Assam Public Safety Act, establishments have 10 days to comply, covering all entry, exit, and common areas. Footage must be stored for 30 days. Police will inspect for enforcement. The move aims to restore law and order after incidents like stone pelting, inflammatory posters, and communal tension. CM Sarma earlier announced a night-time shoot-at-sight order to prevent further violence.
