Chutia Students’ Association Stages Protest Demanding ST Status

The All Golaghat District Chutia Students Association held a massive protest in Golaghat on Tuesday, demanding Scheduled Tribe (ST) status for the Chutia community and preservation of the Chutia dynasty’s historical monuments.

Mahen Bora, president of the All Assam Chutia Students’ Association, warned of strong protests if the government fails to grant ST status within six months. He criticized the ruling BJP for false promises and condemned ministers Ajanta Neog and Atul Bora for their inaction.

The rally saw widespread participation, with leaders from various organizations joining the protest, calling for justice for the Chutia community.
