Clash Erupts at Assam-Meghalaya Border Amid Ongoing Dispute

A violent clash broke out in Guwahati’s Garbhanga forest on Wednesday between Assam Forest officials and Meghalaya locals. The conflict began when Assam stopped a meeting allegedly organized by Meghalaya authorities in disputed territory. Tensions escalated as officials were attacked and one organiser detained, sparking further violence. An FIR was filed. The incident comes amid ongoing efforts to resolve border disputes, with six of 12 contested areas still unresolved.
