CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Felicitates Lovlina Borgohain with ₹50 Lakh

Guwahati: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday presented boxer Lovlina Borgohain with a ₹50 lakh cheque for winning gold in the women’s 75kg category at the Asian Games in Japan. She was felicitated at Lok Sewa Bhawan following her return to Assam.

Borgohain received a warm welcome at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. The boxer defeated China’s Bao Ziyi 5-0 in the final on October 2, becoming the second Indian woman boxer after MC Mary Kom to win Asian Games gold.
