CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Launches Citizen-Centric RTPS Commission
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the Assam State Commission for the Right to Public Services, enhancing transparency and accountability. Citizens are now entitled to timely delivery of 441 public services, with penalties imposed on officials for delays.
A grievance redressal mechanism allows aggrieved citizens to approach appellate authorities or the Commission directly. Fines for delays, ranging from ₹100 to ₹7,000, will be paid by responsible officials to the affected citizens.
The RTPS portal, developed under a World Bank project, has processed 1.56 crore service applications, achieving a 90% resolution rate.
