CM Sarma Vows Action Against Encroachment on Satra Lands in Assam

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma raised alarm over the encroachment of 15,288 bighas of land belonging to Assam’s Satras. Barpeta is the worst-hit district. Sarma called Satras vital cultural and spiritual institutions and urged public support in protecting them. He thanked the Satra Aayog for its report and announced plans for a permanent body to safeguard Satra welfare.
