Congress Threatens Legal Action Over Panchayat Poll Delay

Assam Congress warned it will move the High Court if panchayat election dates aren’t announced by April 5. APCC chief Bhupen Borah called the delay undemocratic and accused the BJP of weakening Opposition unity. Congress also alleged threats against its candidates ahead of the April 2 Rabha Hasong Council polls and claimed confidence in winning if BJP doesn’t use “money power.” Meanwhile, 30 AAP and AASU leaders, including key district figures, joined Congress, boosting its strength before the elections.
