Convocation of electricity users was held in Guwahati at the Lakhidhar Bora Complex

At the Lakhidhar Bora Complex in Guwahati on Friday, the All Assam Electricity Consumers’ Association (AAECA) gathered Assam state power consumers for a meeting. The assembly deliberated over the increase in electricity rates, the discontinuation of pre-paid smart metres, and the imperative to halt the privatisation of the electricity sector.

A group of five members team from the association presented a memorandum to the Chief Minister on Friday. Over the course of the last three months, the association has gathered signatures from power consumers all over the state, totaling over three lakh signatures, under the AAECA.
