Dhubri Medical College Probes Ragging and Drug Abuse Allegations

Dhubri Medical College has formed a five-member panel to investigate allegations of ragging, torture, and forced drug abuse reported by a first-semester student. The student, originally from Bihar, claimed that unidentified individuals entered his hostel room and injected him with narcotics while he slept. The college principal, Ankumoni Saikia, confirmed receiving the complaint but noted it lacked specifics. The investigation, led by Dr. Dipu Bhuyan, will submit findings within three days. The college has placed the student under faculty supervision while the probe continues. Authorities have questioned the plausibility of the claims but assured strict action if proven true.
