Dibrugarh Student Missing After Falling into Simen River While Taking Selfie
A student from Dibrugarh, identified as Ajitesh Hazarika, has gone missing after slipping into the Simen River while attempting to take a selfie. Hazarika, along with six friends, was en route to Murkongselek from Bairagimath and had stopped at Simen Chapori railway station. The group, consisting of students from various Dibrugarh schools, ventured five kilometers into Arunachal Pradesh to enjoy the scenery.
Tragically, while trying to capture the moment on camera, Hazarika climbed onto a rock and accidentally fell into the river. A friend attempted to rescue him but was unsuccessful. Upon being notified, Simen Chapori police arrived at the scene, and personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) initiated a search operation in the river.
