Disciplinary Action Taken After Suspect’s Suicide at Mandia Police Outpost in Assam

Following the suicide of a suspect inside the Mandia Police Outpost in Barpeta, Assam, disciplinary actions were implemented on Wednesday. Officer-in-charge Susmita Bora was placed on reserve, LC Roushan Ali was suspended, and a home guard jawan was dismissed from service. The incident occurred after reports of an individual nabbed on suspicion of theft took his own life within the outpost premises. The Barpeta district superintendent of police, Pankaj Yadav, ordered these actions. The deceased, identified as Lutfor Rahman alias Rinku Ali, hailed from Number 4 Bordoloni Gaon village. The incident sparked protests outside the police outpost, demanding justice for the deceased.
