Doctor Shortage Strains Healthcare at Goroimari PHC

Barpeta: The Goroimari Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Assam’s Barpeta district is facing an acute shortage of doctors and healthcare staff, with only two medical officers treating 200–300 patients daily.

Hospital authorities said the staff shortage has affected healthcare services, while the ageing tin-roofed building is in poor condition and leaks during heavy rain. They have urged the Health Department to appoint more doctors and nurses and renovate the facility to improve patient care.
