Employee of Rehabilitation Centre Arrested for Alleged Rape in Dispur

Dispur Police apprehended an employee of the Peace Wellness Foundation following a complaint of rape from an inmate. The raid on the rehabilitation centre was prompted by complaints from locals about fights and drug consumption. Inmates also reported physical and mental harassment, with a teenage girl accusing employee Bhargav Giri of rape. Immediate action was taken by Dispur police, leading to Giri’s apprehension from Japorigog on Friday night, with two additional arrests made on Saturday as legal proceedings were initiated.
