Explosion in Jorhat Kills Two, Injures Two

A powerful explosion in Jorhat on Saturday afternoon left two people dead, including an eight-year-old child, and two others critically injured.
The blast occurred around 3:30 pm at a rented house in Rajamaidam New Colony, causing panic in the densely populated area. Nur Mohammad died on the spot, while the child, Iqbal Ahmed, succumbed to injuries at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
According to Superintendent of Police Subhra Jyoti Bora, the incident was initially suspected to be a cylinder blast, but no fire was found. Preliminary reports suggest the victim may have been hammering a fire extinguisher, possibly to extract metal, when it exploded.
Forensic teams have collected samples, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause.
