Explosives Unearthed in Assam’s Sonitpur and South Salmara Districts

On December 19, Sonitpur Police and commandos recovered five hand grenades and five detonators from the Rubber Bagan jungle near Udangsri village, Dhekiajuli. Acting on intelligence, the team discovered the explosives buried underground, wrapped in polythene.

Separately, South Salmara Police seized 760 explosive sticks, 400 detonators, wires, and tools from Barbilla’s Amtenga region. Authorities have secured the materials for further investigation.
