Fine of Rs 50,000 imposed for cement clinker overloading

To reduce overloading while transporting cement clinker from the Lumshnong area in East Jaintia Hills, the All Jaintia Cement & Clinker Transporters Association (AJCCTA) has decided to fine violators Rs 50,000 in order to improve road safety and preserve the condition of transport vehicles.

The decision was made at a meeting held on Friday at the AJCCTA’s office in Chiehruphi, EJH, according to AJCCTA president Balen Thubru.

The regulation will go into effect on October 22nd. To ensure road safety, the association has urged all transporters to adhere to these weight restrictions.
