FIR Filed Against Facebook User for Sharing Assamese Film Clip

The makers of the Assamese film “Bidurbhai” filed an FIR against Facebook user ‘Akash Bora’ for allegedly sharing a video clip of the movie, violating the Indian Copyright Act. The production house, Rootstock Entertainment Private Limited, claims this act causes financial losses. Producer Arnab Hazarika emphasized the need for immediate action. “Bidurbhai,” a satirical comedy released on July 19, has been successful, showing in 179 theaters in Assam and expanding to major cities on July 26.
