Four youths injured in separate incidents involving police firing are believed to have links to ULFA-I

In two different firing incidents with the Assam Police on Sunday, at least four youths were injured by bullets.

Based on intelligence reports, three young people were reportedly apprehended in the Tinsukia district’s Kharsong area. However, when the youths attempted to snatch weapons and escape, the police were forced to shoot them. It was believed that the three were en route to become members of United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent, a banned militant group (ULFA-I).
