Gauhati HC Seeks Govt Action Report on Guwahati Waterlogging

The Gauhati High Court asked the Assam government to submit a detailed report on steps taken to address Guwahati’s waterlogging. The court noted persistent flooding due to rain and ongoing illegal hill cutting. Despite existing regulations, enforcement remains weak. The court was hearing a PIL by the North East Eco Development Society.
