Gauhati High Court Quashes FIR Against TV Anchor Over Kamakhya Remarks

The Gauhati High Court has quashed an FIR filed against TV anchor Akansha Swarup over alleged remarks about human sacrifice at Kamakhya Temple. The court ruled that her comments were based on statements made by an interviewee and did not reflect her own views.

Swarup’s channel had already apologized and deleted the content. The court found no intent to promote enmity but cautioned the journalist to exercise greater care in future public statements.
