Gauhati High Court Seeks Details from Mising Autonomous Council on Relief Measures

The Gauhati High Court directed the Mising Autonomous Council to furnish details of the latest survey identifying economically backward families and the relief provided to them. Chief Justice Vijay Bishnoi and Justice Suman Shyam issued the directive during the hearing of a suo moto case involving the Council. While an affidavit mentioned the decision to conduct a survey, the court noted the absence of supporting documents. The council’s counsel was directed to file an additional affidavit, including the survey decision and relief details. The matter is scheduled for the next hearing in four weeks.
