GMC Cracks Down on Littering, Imposes Fines Up to ₹40,000

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation has intensified its anti-littering drive, penalizing violators citywide. Fines ranged from ₹500 to ₹1,000 for street dumping, while a ₹40,000 penalty was imposed for releasing boring waste into a drain in Juripar Path. GMC urged citizens to maintain cleanliness, especially ahead of the monsoon, and warned of continued strict action against offenders.
