GMC Launches GIS-Based Unique House Number System in Guwahati

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation has introduced the Unique House Number Plating initiative to modernise property identification using GIS technology. The system will assign a unique digital ID to every property, helping improve tax collection, service delivery, urban planning and emergency response. GMC said the move will create a uniform property database and urged residents to cooperate during surveys and data verification.
