Government Railway Police Seizes Rs 22 Lakh Worth of White Gold in Rajdhani Express Operation

In a significant operation, the Government Railway Police (GRP) in New Bongaigaon seized white gold valued at approximately Rs 22 lakh from the Rajdhani Express. The successful operation led to the arrest of Basant Lal, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, who was transporting the illicit material from Tinsukia to his home state. Alongside the confiscation of the white gold, the police also seized Rs 80,000 in cash from the apprehended individual. The incident is currently under further investigation by the authorities.
