Govt Approves ₹664.09 Crore Scheme for Tea Industry Development

The Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry has approved ₹664.09 crore for the Tea Board’s “Tea Development & Promotion Scheme.” The scheme, valid until March 2026, aims to support plantation development, quality upgrades, market promotion, research, and welfare initiatives. Large tea estates, small growers, SHGs, and FPOs will receive assistance for replanting, nurseries, mini-tea units, and global branding. The initiative focuses on boosting productivity, improving quality, and increasing India’s share in tea exports.
