Govt Committed to Justice in APSC Scam, No Blanket Cancellation: CM Sarma

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the APSC cash-for-job scam probe, dismissing 39 officers so far and proceeding against more. Addressing the Assembly, he ruled out scrapping the 2013 and 2014 CCE, citing legal constraints.

Sarma criticized a Gauhati High Court stay on departmental proceedings against 18 accused officers, questioning the urgency of the ruling. He assured that the government has not reinstated them and is awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision.

Despite opposition criticism, Sarma emphasized that action is based on evidence, ensuring guilty officers face justice without legal loopholes.
