“Gunfire” Near Paresh Baruah’s Home Turns Out to Be Birthday Skyshots

Police clarified that the sounds reported as gunfire near ULFA-I chief Paresh Baruah’s residence in Dibrugarh were actually celebratory “skyshots” fired during a nearby birthday party.

Officials said youths fired shots about 150 metres away, and CCTV footage confirmed the timing of flashes with the sounds.

Earlier, family members suspected a targeted attack, but police ruled out any security breach. Investigation is ongoing.
