Guwahati authorities will levy fines on errant city buses

The one-minute stoppage rule for city buses at bus stops will be strictly enforced now, and a ‘challan’ will be issued against violating buses, it was stated. According to official sources, Guwahati traffic police will now issue e-challans for fines to bus owners if a city bus stops for more than one minute at any stop.

The rule allowing city buses to stop for one minute at bus stops was passed some time ago, but drivers continue to flout it with impunity.
