Assam police have identified a dead transgender person

On Sunday, the Chandmari police identified the suspected transgender person who was discovered dead in a drain near the Assam Engineering Institute (AEI) hostel on Saturday afternoon.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as Amdadul Islam, a resident of Juria police station in Nagaon district. Islam’s body was discovered under suspicious circumstances, and police suspected that he was murdered elsewhere and his body was dumped near AEI.
