Guwahati-North Guwahati Bridge Cost Rises by ₹422 Crore

The budget for the Guwahati-North Guwahati Bridge has surged from ₹2,608 crore to ₹3,030 crore due to cost escalations. Funded 80% by the New Development Bank and 20% by the Assam government, the project is expected to be completed between September and November. The bridge will feature a health monitoring system, dynamic lighting, underpasses, and a rescue station. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma aims for an inauguration during Durga Puja, with PM Modi expected to attend. The construction is handled by SP Singla Constructions, the firm behind the collapsed Sultanganj-Bhagalpur Bridge.
