Guwahati police arrest five people in connection with a gambling crackdown

Guwahati police conducted two separate raids and arrested miscreants as part of an anti-gambling campaign. On Sunday night, a West Guwahati Police District (WGPD) team from Gorchuk Police Station raided the Katahbari Nijorapar area and busted a gambling den.

The team apprehended five Gorchuk residents: Rupjyoti Nath, Harideb Singha, Khwrwmdao Khaklary, Abdul Rauf, and Meher Hussain. A West Guwahati Police District (WGPD) team from Fatasil Ambari Police Station, on the other hand, conducted a raid in the Ganesh Para area. Following the raid, the team raided a gambling establishment and seized gambling items and other goods used to run the establishment.
