IIT Guwahati and HDFC Parivartan Launch Rural Development Projects in Assam and Meghalaya

IIT Guwahati, with HDFC Parivartan, has launched three technology-driven projects to boost rural livelihoods in Assam and Meghalaya. The initiatives include a biomass pellet unit in Meghalaya, an agrivoltaics farming and tea processing project in Assam, and a freeze-drying facility at IIT Guwahati. These projects aim to enhance food and energy security, increase farmers’ income, and promote sustainable agribusiness models. Over 300 farmers are expected to benefit from the initiative, funded under HDFC Parivartan’s CSR programme.
