Illegal Cattle Transportation Foiled: Three Apprehended at Assam-Meghalaya Border

A truck carrying 28 live cattle was intercepted and three individuals were apprehended at the Jorabat Link road near the Assam-Meghalaya border. The interception occurred during routine Naka checking when a container vehicle, registered as UP-21CN2107, was found loaded with illegal live cattle, including one dead cattle. The driver and helpers failed to produce legal documents and veterinary certificates for the transported cattle during interrogation.

The apprehended individuals, identified as Moksidul Islam, Muksarikul Islam, and Suhel Ahmed, claimed to have brought the cattle from Jorhat district towards Meghalaya. The seized vehicle and the arrested individuals are undergoing necessary formalities, with further interrogation underway.
