In Guwahati, drinking water is still in scarcity

There is still a severe scarcity of drinkable water in Guwahati, forcing the city’s residents to regularly purchase expensive drinking water.

Despite having a large river running through the centre of the city, there is no extensive system for supplying and purifying water. Even though the Guwahati Jal Board has provided water connections to certain areas of the city, the water delivery infrastructure is still flawed and occasionally has issues. Nevertheless, there is a significant issue with drinking water while purchasing it from these sources.
