JettWings Airways Granted UDAN Approval, Set to Transform Regional Air Travel
JettWings Airways, a Guwahati-based airline, has received approval to operate in 12 sectors across the Northeast, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar under the UDAN scheme, marking a significant development for regional air travel. The airline will connect airports in Guwahati, Pakyong, Cooch Behar, Kushinagar, Gaya, Bareilly, Kanpur, and Agra, becoming the first airline from the Northeast to operate fixed-wing aircraft on commercial routes. Utilizing modern deck turbofan regional jets, JettWings aims to deploy a fleet of 42 aircraft in the initial five years, strategically enhancing regional connectivity and stimulating economic development. Chairman Sanjive Narain expressed gratitude for the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s trust and emphasized the airline’s dedication to maximizing the impact of this route award, delivering tangible results, and providing an enriched travel experience for passengers.
