Joint Operations Destroy Illicit Poppy Fields in Manipur
A coordinated operation by Manipur Police, Assam Rifles, Forest Department, and an executive magistrate on December 27 eradicated seven acres of poppy plantations in Churachandpur district.
Authorities filed an FIR and are identifying those responsible. Earlier, on December 14, Assam Rifles destroyed 354 acres of poppy fields in Ukhrul, Churachandpur, and Chandel districts.
On December 23, security forces cleared 22 acres of poppy fields in Kangpokpi district, with joint efforts by Kangpokpi Police and CRPF. These actions underline the commitment to countering the drug trade in the region.
