Luxmi Tea Company to Launch ₹300 Cr Tea Tourism Project in Assam
Inspired by the success of Makaibari tea tourism in West Bengal, Luxmi Tea Company is investing ₹300 crore in a mega tea tourism project at Lepetkata tea estate, Assam. Approved by the State Cabinet and trade unions, the project will include a vocational training center, educational institute, super-specialty hospital, wellness center, luxury hotels, and homestays. The initiative aims to revive the loss-making estate, create jobs, and boost local entrepreneurship. Luxmi Tea assures that workers’ jobs will remain unaffected, with only 3.5% of the estate being utilized. The project awaits the State’s SOP for commencement.
