Major Drug Bust at Guwahati Railway Station: Woman Arrested with Heroin

A joint team of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) apprehended a woman drug peddler at Guwahati Railway Station on January 23, 2025. The woman, traveling from Dimapur to Guwahati on the Jan Shatabdi Express, was detained after 30 plastic soap boxes containing 360 grams of heroin, valued at ₹72 lakh, were found in her luggage. Identified as Rudrani Bhattacharjee from Agartala, Tripura, she was arrested and taken into custody for further investigation. Authorities are increasing checks at railway stations to combat drug trafficking in the region.
