Man Attempts to Burn Wife Alive in Majuli, Assam

In Majuli’s Garamur area, an intoxicated man attempted to burn his wife alive. The woman sustained critical burn injuries and was initially treated at Pitambar Dev Goswami District Hospital before being referred to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital for advanced care. Locals reported that the husband had a history of torturing his wife. The police have detained the accused.
