Man Dies in Unbarricaded Trench Accident Near Brahmaputra

A 35-year-old man, Ajay Singh, died after falling into a 20-foot-deep unbarricaded trench with his motorcycle near Hatimura embankment in Jakhalabandha on Sunday night. Locals recovered his bike, while SDRF retrieved his body on Monday morning.

Residents blamed negligence by the Water Resources Department for leaving the trench unbarricaded, calling the incident preventable. Police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating. Singh is survived by his grieving family.
