Man Sentenced to 30 Years in POCSO Case in Kokrajhar
In Kokrajhar district, the Court of Additional Sessions Judge cum Special Judge, POCSO, convicted Habibor Rahman under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, sentencing him to 30 years of rigorous imprisonment. Rahman was apprehended in 2018 by police following a case filed at Bagribari Police Station. Additionally, a fine of Rs. 50,000 was imposed, with failure to pay resulting in an additional year of imprisonment. Rahman had sexually abused a minor girl in his residence, prompting the victim’s parents to file an FIR at Bogribari Police Station.
