Mazirgaon ‘Model Village’ Still Struggles for Clean Drinking Water

Despite being declared a ‘model village’ under the Assam Adarsha Gaon Yojana nearly five years ago, Mazirgaon in the Azara revenue circle continues to face an acute shortage of clean drinking water. Residents allege that the model village tag exists only on paper, with key areas like Thakuriapara, Rajapara, and Gosaipara still deprived of supply under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Locals have urged authorities to address the issue, saying a model village without basic amenities defeats the scheme’s purpose.
