Mysterious Death of Youth in Tangla Town Sparks Investigation

On Friday evening, a youth named Kanak Roy was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances at the verandah of Swapan Saha’s residence near the CRPF camp in Tangla town, Udalguri district. Kanak Roy, a resident of Rupakhat village, was found lying face-down in a pool of blood, with injuries to his head and face suggesting foul play.

Family members suspect murder, emphasizing that Kanak had no known enemies and was only in Tangla briefly after returning from medical treatment in Guwahati. His brother, Mithun Roy, accused Swapan Saha of cold-blooded murder and demanded his immediate arrest.

Swapan Saha claimed Kanak collapsed while attempting to make a call at his home. Locals, however, echoed suspicions of foul play, urging a thorough investigation and the arrest of those responsible.

Tangla police, led by Bhergaon SDPO Durga Kingkar Sarmah and Tangla OC Biswajit Medhi, visited the crime scene, retrieved the body, and took Swapan Saha into custody for questioning. Police investigations are ongoing, with further details awaited.
