Narrow Escape as Car Struck by Train in Karimganj; Absence of Railway Crossing Gate Raises Concerns

Three individuals narrowly escaped a potentially fatal accident on Sunday when their car was struck by a goods train near Duaribagar in the Kayasthagram area of Karimganj district. The absence of a railway-level crossing gate once again came to light as the car was left on the track, leading to a terrifying ordeal for the passengers. Fortunately, they managed to exit the car just before the collision. The train dragged the car for about 200 meters before coming to a halt. Local residents assisted in clearing the wreckage, and train services resumed after nearly two hours.
