Sanitation Crisis in Lumding Railway Colony Raises Health Concerns

A serious sanitation issue has emerged in Lumding Railway Colony, where garbage accumulation near the United Club has created unhygienic conditions and environmental pollution.
Residents allege poor waste management by the Northeast Frontier Railway, with irregular cleaning leading to repeated buildup of waste. The area has effectively turned into an open dumping ground, posing risks of infections, air pollution, and zoonotic diseases.
Locals also warned that stagnant waste during rains could trigger mosquito-borne diseases like dengue and malaria. Despite multiple complaints, no lasting action has been taken, prompting demands for immediate and permanent solutions.
