One dead and several injured in storm in Dibrugarh

Houses and granaries, especially in the rural pockets, were damaged in storm that struck the district between 4am and 4.20am. Moran, Lahowal and Chabua were among the worst-affected areas.

Deepjyoti Hatikakoti, district project officer, Assam State Disaster Management Authority, said a 60-year-old woman, Sukurara Mura of Tamulbari tea estate in Lahowal area, was killed after a huge banyan tree fell on her thatched roof house.
